Pulp Fiction

The movie Pulp Fiction, directed by Quentin Tarantino was released in 1994. It was his second movie, the expectations were very high after his debut Reservoir Dogs. Pulp fiction is a great movie and a real classic. It has one of the best casts ever assembled.

It’s based on three stories; the story of two hit men who are working for a powerful mobster Marsellus Wallace, the story of a boxer named Butch, and the story of a pair of criminals that decide to rob a restaurant. At first the movie seems a bit random but when you understand that the story line isn’t in chronological order, you realise that the different stories all come together. The fact that you really have to use your brains to understand the story line, is one of the things that makes this such an interesting movie.

The script is written like a piece of art, with a lot of references to other movies. There are a lot of funny dialogues. The Wolf: “That’s thirty minutes away. I’ll be there in ten.” This is an example of one of the many quotes that are used in the film.

The movie contains a lot of violence and the F word is used more than two hundred times. The use of language, the random shooting and killing and all the bloody scenes makes the movie different and fascinating. The use of violence is compensated by the humour, which makes it light and not too intense.

But I’m still curious what the content of the briefcase is…
