This movie is a classic? You have to be kidding me!
Pulp Fiction came out in 1994. It became one of the best movies ever made, and it’s a classic. This is very strange I think, I didn’t like the movie that much. It’s made by Quentin Tarantino, the man who also made Kill Bill.
Pulp Fiction includes four stories, one about the couple Ringo and Yolanda who is planning to rob a restaurant, one about Vincent Vega’s ‘date’ with Marsellus Wallaces wife, one about boxer Butch Coolidge and his girlfriend and the last one is about the two hit men Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield. So what made this movie a classic? For me this movie is not special. it’s just normal and very, very weird… Why all the shooting and violence? Was that necessary to make this movie a classic? Well apparently, because it is a classic. I don’t like the ending where the two hit men are walking away from the restaurant, after they kept the couple, Ringo and Yolanda, away from the robbery and that’s it.
Okay, there are also good things in this movie. First of all the fact that it’s not in chronological order is good, it actually makes you want to keep on watching the movie. The actors are okay and a couple of them are very popular, like John Travolta and Uma Thurman. All the humour makes the violence appear less severe which can be perceived as positive.
To conclude, I understand why people like this movie. However I have a hard time understanding why this movie is a classic.
